Unions Tasmania is a well-respected and experienced provider of training for Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs), offering a comprehensive five-day course for new HSRs and one-day refreshers throughout the year. Our training is WorkSafe Tasmania and Comcare approved.

5-DAY HSR INTRODUCTORY COURSE

Designed primarily for Health and Safety Representatives, this course also suits people wanting an excellent introduction to work health and safety. You’ll gain the knowledge and skills you need to meet the challenges of being an HSR or actively participate in the improvement of work health and safety.

  • Interpreting work health and safety law and the role of the HSR
  • Identifying key parties and their legal obligations and duties
  • Establishing representation in the workplace
  • Participating in consultation and issue resolution
  • Representing members in the risk management process
  • Issuing provisional improvement notices and directing work to cease

HSR ANNUAL REFRESHER COURSE

Keep your skills and knowledge up to date with the annual refresher for HSRs who have previously completed the 5-day introductory course. This is a combined course for both State and Comcare HSRs.
