Secure Tasmanian Jobs Public Forum Launceston

August 26, 2021

Australia used to have the most stable, reliable jobs in the world.
Whether it's casualised jobs with less rights, labour hire that underpays for the same job, part time work without meaningful guaranteed hours, or years of low pay growth, insecure work is a serious problem for Tasmanians.
We all know what insecure work means. It means you can’t plan your life, you struggle to pay the bills, you don't get to enjoy what should be simple pleasures like going out for a meal.
When people don’t have secure jobs, they have less money to spend in their local economy. This harms small business and it holds us all back.
Unions Tasmania is hosting this public forum where we'll hear directly from workers in and around Launceston who don't have secure work and we'll talk about what needs to change so more people have secure jobs they can count on.
Date: Thursday 2 September 2021
Time: 5:30-6:30pm
Venue: Invermay Bowls Club, Forster St, Invermay TAS 7248
